These days it is thought that “putting a filter on it” is considered Retouching. Kinda close . . . but not really.
Instagram filters are great for social media and having a bit of fun but when you are using headshots for professional means like a company website, company business card, brochure and even that TED talk you have booked next month, a hands-on editing approach by a professional is the best professional choice. (…did we use the word professional three times in a single sentence??? Yes, we did! By design my friends, by design . . . because being professional makes all the difference!)

By handcrafted we mean that a real person actually lays eyes on your images and with professional editing software makes changes to your image helping you look like do on your very best day. That means no worries about that pop-up blemish or that rough hair or even if you have a bit of redness on your cheeks or a shine on your forehead, we can finetune that.

Ultimately, good preparation is the best way to insure that your headshot session is a success. Plenty of rest, the right wardrobe, and a bit of headshot guidance create images that are 95% the way there when we press that little black button on our camera.

Proofs vs Basic Retouch vs Enhanced Retouch
Proofs
Images that come out of a headshot session are called Proofs. These are the images that you use to select your favourites. These are basically SOOC (straight-out-of-camera) with only a bit of image work including colour correction, contrast and white balance and such.
Once you pick the images that you want to take home with you, we done do some basic retouching on them.
Basic Retouch
For any digital images that we provide to our headshot clients, we complete Basic Retouching on them. It’s just the Infinite Eye Way!
Basic Retouching Includes:
Reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes
Remove yellow and red from eyes and teeth
Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
Eliminate distracting stray hairs
Erase temporary blemishes like acne and razor bumps
Enhance the colour and contrast for more impact
Basic Retouching Does NOT Include:
Use skin-softening filters
Distort or shrink natural features
Change hairstyles or colour
Fix wrinkled or disheveled clothes
Remove logos or graphics from clothing
Remove permanent facial features (actors and models)
