Love Your Skin
There are a lot of great amazing people out there. And today I would like to highlight one of them for you.
Maggie Plante. She is the co-owner of Skin Effect which has locations in Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park, AB. They are a laser and medical aesthetics spa with the goal to help you “Love Your Skin”.
When I asked her what Skin Effects “WHY” is, she shared with me that the treatments are not about vanity but instead creating confidence in people. Skin Effects strives on building self-esteem and helping people feel their best.
She summed it up nicely by saying “We help people take control through self-empowerment.”
She just wants people to be happy with themselves! That makes her happy! I like that.
And to further boost her “self-empowerment” goal, she has taken things to the LINKS with her Annual Charity Golf Tournament with money raised benefiting The Canada Skin Cancer Foundation. She choose that charity because it, of course, is near and dear to her business heart but also because The Canada Skin Cancer Foundation group not only does research and prevention campaigns but also educates youngsters about “Sun Safety”. She shared with me that this is so SO important as the sun burns we get as kids are what she is treating and dealing with at Skin Effects for people as adults!
This year is the Third Annual Skin Effects Cherity Golf Tournament and it is once again being held at Cattail Crossing. Date is Saturday July 22nd, 2023 – shotgun start at 2:00 PM.
She has had some great sponsors in the past for the event and recalled with a big smile the first year when at Closest to the Pin Hole the contest it featuring an oncourse Lamborghini!! Golfers got to sit in it, rev the engine and bit and of course take a pictures with it. The Closest to the Hole winner then got a ride in the Lambo!! How cool is that? Very cool and unique experience indeed!
So what’s happening this year???
Well, lots more Hole activities with the one that peaked my interest was that they are giving away a SUV at the Hole in One Hole – this is probably better for me because I would not know what so to with a Lambo but a SUV, that, I can manage!!!
The goal this year is to raise $15,000. How with they do it? “By having a lot of fun!!” Can’t argue with that!!
