Change? Not a Problem :)
For a lot of people change can be difficult. For small businesses, change can be an important part of what creates a pattern of success.
When I think back to when Infinite Eye started there were two owners with an idea to bring smiles to people. We mainly shot weddings, family photos and newborns - my business partner was amazing at those!!! Very different from what Infinite Eye is currently. The question is how did all of that happen. Lets dive in and take a look!
As we worked for people, companies, families, etc. we learned from each experience. From these experiences, we learned new truths. These truths, if we watched out for them and were open to what they had to say, were guides on how we could make things better. We took on different job types like action sports and team photos which were different from what we had been doing previously. Again, change was need - we listened, we learned, we adapted, we changed.
Then we had an important internal business change for us occur. One of the business partners made the decision to explore other avenues and move on from Infinite Eye. It was the right decision for her and we had a positive parting of the two founders. More change. Roles had to be reassigned and additional people brought on to help ensure things continued to run smoothly. That is when Kellee came on board!
Since then, there have been countless changes made to help focus and make improvements to the business. We changed how we photographed, we decided to no longer shoot weddings, we decided to specialize in headshots, we integrated improved software which failed so we brought in different software. You get the idea.
A huge change for us was moving our operation into a Studio location. Allowed us to do so much more!!
Then when COVID hit we unfortunately had to move out of that location but once things started opening up again, we found another Studio spot that we could call home.
Change is inevitable. If you do not accept this, you will constantly be chasing change not embracing change. The key is to get ahead of change, to continually ask questions, to keep an eye on what is coming and be the change you want to see.
Unsure that change is inevitable? Talk to any small business owner or business professional. Ask them to tell you stories about how things have changed from when they first started. Without a doubt, they will all have many stories about change in their business lives and a lot talk about people who have come and gone.
Staffing Changes
The inevitable change is that all businesses will need to deal with growth and turnover.
We won’t get into the HR details of employees coming or going from your company, we’re not experts on that, but what we are experts at are headshots and company team photos.
Company Team Photos
We often get requests for an add-on of team photos when companies are in getting new headshots done. These are great for website about us pages, company reports and even to print, frame and put on the walls as recognition for a job well done for the team.
For us, Company Team Photos come in two main types - Group Team Photo and Continual Team Photo.
Group Team Photos are when everyone comes together and smiles for the camera.
These are great and can show the energy of the group while everyone is together. We shoot these all the time and they are great.
BUUUUT… what if you don’t have an event or the ability to bring everyone together? It can be difficult to organize. There seems to always be one person who is busy during the time you have chosen. Or if you do manage to get everyone together, what tends to happen is once the photo is taken, within 3-6 months, a team member is brought on or someone leaves. This now makes your team photo out of date.
Continual Team Photos
This is where Continual Team Photos come in and can help reduce the pain of people coming and going from your teams.
Continual Team Photos are when Infinite Eye photographs members of a business team separately and then “digitally create” a team photo using each of the team members’ individual photos.
The advantage of Continual Team Photos is that you are not locked in, the Team Photo can always be changed. If someone is hired on, we can photograph them individually and add them in, that’s it. No need to reshoot the full group.
What if someone leaves? Even easier. We just take the person who is no longer with your company out of the team photo, tweak and rearrange everyone else just a bit and BOOM! Your team photo is updated!!
Infinite Eye manages all of the details and magic behind the scenes so you don’t event have to think about it.
And here is an amazing kicker, if you are booking your headshots with us anyway there is no update fee charged, we just take care of it for you.
Now that is some positive and powerful change that you can take on with lots of benefits to your growing and adapting company!
