2023 April Edition
Welcome to the inaugural issue of Manual Focus, a newsletter by a small business for small businesses.
As exciting as a busy B2B photography studio can be, we didn't want to create something that only talked about what we're doing or our latest shoots. We want to connect with other businesses, share valuable insights we have gained by running a visual creative business, and get involved in the community that we live, work, and play in.
Spring is Upon Us
Ah, golf, the most loved and hated sport in the world. You either love it or you don't, there's not in-between. The snow is slowly but surely melting, the grass is slowly gaining life and the golf season is almost upon us. If you are a business looking to network or a not-for-profit wanting to fundraise, golf tournament organizing is already in full swing! From gaining marketing assets, to collaborating, to it's just plain fun to get photos taken, we at Infinite Eye know a thing a two about photographing these amazing and fun events. If you want to read more, we wrote a blog post, 4 Great Reasons to Hire a Golf Photographer, going over these points and more!
Community Connections:
Spring On Ice
At the end of March, 57 teams and almost a 1000 players from across Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and the NWT came to Edmonton to compete in the Spring On Ice tournament hosted by KC South. Spanning multiple arena's throughout Edmonton, along with silent auctions, gift baskets and 50/50's, Shauna Feller, the Tournament Director since inception, has also helped arrange 25 of the teams to go watch a live Oilers game. It takes a tremendous amount of time and planning to have a tournament run so smoothly, and every year Shauna delivers.

The Gobo Project:
What's a gobo you may ask?
A gobo in photography is an object placed inside or in front of a light source to control the shape of the emitted light and it's shadow. Our Gobo is a little bit different. With The Gobo Project, we want to connect local businesses with one another and help them find their perfect client. Our Gobo is to showcase local businesses and business owners: how they got started, challenges they faced and dive into the why they do what they do. We want to share community events, local fundraisers, events for a greater cause. It's about building and growing our community.
If you are someone or know someone that would be a great fit, please fill out this form here: Gobo Form
Quote·able
"To all the viewers yourself, what matters is the product: the finished artwork. To you, and you alone what matters is the process: the experience of shaping the artwork." - Ted Orland, Art and Fear
